Following the six Sunday evening trial meetings we have collated the results of the surveys for those that attended (287), which have been shared with the British Horseracing Authority.
The statistics show that 61% in attendance were there on their day off, and 26% of those had no choice and had to attend.
Regarding the £150 payment to staff attending:
37% of the staff said the extra money makes it worthwhile and appealing, with 12% saying they were only there because of the money being paid.
Whilst 26% said that the extra money was good but they would still prefer to not be racing on a Sunday evening.
13% said that no amount of money would change their mind on Sunday evening racing, and 12% didn’t have an opinion either way.
On Prize Money, 57% of the staff said they did not feel the extra prize money on offer made a difference to them.
