    Level 1 – Level 2

    A government recognised qualification equivalent to GCSEs.

    Choice of 2 levels to match your ability:

    • Level 2 is the same as A-C GCSE Grade
    • Level 1 is the same as a D GCSE Grade

    These courses cover 4 skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening.

    Exams

    Reading will see you read a document and then answer questions about what you have read.

    Writing is where you will be given a topic to write about and will be tested on your spelling, punctuation and creativity on what you have written.

    Speaking and listening are assessed on a group exercise where you will all take part in a chat on a various topic, all tested on your ability to listen, input and take part in what is generally good fun.

    Level 1 – Level 2

    A government recognised qualification equivalent to GCSEs.

    • Level 2 is the same as A-C GCSE Grade
    • Level 1 is the same as a D GCSE Grade

    This course is excellent in refreshing or developing your maths skills.

    Most of it you will have done before but as with anything not doing it regularly you can forget how to do some of the simplest things.

    The course covers general maths calculations as well as Fractions, Percentages, Averages, Area, Shape, Perimeter, etc.

    We try and make it relevant to the Racing Industry and how and where you might use this in your daily job or life.

    Level 1 – Level 2

    • Level 1 is the same as a D GCSE Grade

    This course has become popular for many especially with computer skills now becoming part of daily modern life and something in most roles you will now need going forward.

    This course works on and around the Microsoft Office package of Word, Excel and Power Point etc whilst expanding on general computer and internet use and knowledge.

    English Speaking for Other Languages

    A popular course with the foreign staff in the industry who would like a qualification in English.

    This course is suitable for all speakers of any languages to improve their English.

    We try and make the course relevant to the industry to help the staff understand the key words used every day in the yard etc.

    The course will see the learners take part in a Speaking and Listening test and is a perfect starter for staff to get up to a good standard and progress onto the English Functional skills course in time and when ready.

    MBA in Thoroughbred Horseracing Industries


    University of Liverpool offers a 2 year part-time MBA in Thoroughbred Horseracing Industries. This is an exciting development that started in 2015. This unique Thoroughbred Horseracing Industries MBA is the only masters-level qualification in the world to be delivered through an exclusive partnership with Britain’s Horserace Betting Levy Board and the British Horseracing Authority.

    In addition, they will provide a number of scholarships for eligible students. The programme combines the Management School’s expertise in sports industry management, with the specialist equine knowledge of the University’s School of Veterinary Science.
