Meet the team

George McGrath

George has been working in the thoroughbred industry since he was fourteen years old. The son of a former champion jockey, George McGrath snr, he started his career at Ian Balding’s and had his first ride for the Queen on a horse called Vitality.

However, a love of food and a lack of direction put paid to any career as a jockey. George has held the roles of Head person, Assistant trainer and travelling head person. He has also worked in Ireland, Dubai, America and Australia.
He took up the role of Chief Executive of the National Association of Racing Staff in 2012.
